Partner programme

Build your clients a shop on Portican

For accounting firms, agencies, developers and anyone who helps businesses sell online. You bring the client and build the shop; the owner sees it from the start, opens it to customers and pays the subscription.

Who the programme is for

Accounting firms

Your clients sell, and you see how much time they lose on paperwork. Recommend a shop that issues its own invoices.

Agencies

Build shops and websites for clients without running a server or maintaining it. You handle content and design; leave operations to us.

Developers and freelancers

Do you build websites and online shops for clients? Build the shop on Portican, fine-tune the design with your own CSS over stable hooks and leave servers, updates and backups to us. Custom JavaScript or template code for a single client is not allowed on the platform.

Other specialists

Consultants, photographers, marketers and others who help businesses start selling.

What a partner does

  • Recommends Portican. Sends the client the partner’s own link; a shop created through it is recorded as the partner’s client.
  • Builds the shop. Sets up products (also imported from a feed), the design, shipping and a payment gateway in development mode, hidden from customers. Cash on delivery and bank transfer are switched on in every shop by default. The partner’s contact person creates a client's shop straight in the partner portal: name, address, market, a template from the library and the owner's details.
  • Invites the owner. When creating the shop, the partner enters the client’s email: the client gets an invitation to the Owner role and sees the shop from the start.
  • Keeps helping if the client wants. The partner works in the shop as a Developer, and the owner can change or remove that role at any time.

What a partner gets

  • Your own code and link. Clients who sign up through it are assigned to you automatically.
  • Shops in development at no charge. No subscription is billed until the owner opens the shop to customers. AI features are paid from credit, in development too.
  • No handover. The client is the owner from the start and sorts out billing details and the subscription when opening the shop, with no account transfers.
  • A library of your own templates. Save a finished shop design to your library and pick it for your next client as soon as you register their shop. A template works like our own: data, platform blocks and sections, and CSS, with no JavaScript or HTML from the partner, so that shops stay fast.
  • API keys and webhooks. Connect a client’s shop to an ERP, a warehouse system or Zapier with a scoped key and signed webhooks.
  • A discount for the client and a commission for you. You see your recorded commissions by month in the partner portal, also as a CSV. Payouts go out automatically once the objection period on the self-billing invoice has passed, provided the partner has filled in tax details and the platform has switched payouts on; until then the commission waits and the portal tells you why.
  • Look versions. The look of a shop is saved as a version: you preview it in the shop, publish it and go back to the previous one with a single click. You can also pull and push versions with the command line tool portican vzhlad, which is being prepared for release on public npm as @portican/cli.
  • Your own frontend. If you want a fully custom website, you write your own frontend on top of the Shop API with the SDK and a frontend key. It runs on your side, not on Portican; checkout, payments and the customer account stay on the platform. The SDK is being prepared for release on public npm as @portican/storefront. It is not a paid add-on of the shop.

Current discount and commission rates are shown here once they are published. You can apply now.

Questions about payouts and the programme

How and when do I get paid?

A commission is recorded after every payment from your client. We prepare the payout once the period and the refund waiting time have passed, issue a self-billing invoice for it and, after the objection period, the automatic payout run sends it once the platform has started payouts; until then commissions are only recorded. You need your tax details filled in the partner portal; until they are, the commission waits and the portal tells you why. The period, waiting time, minimum and countries are in the Payouts section above when they are published.

What is a self-billing invoice and what about VAT?

A self-billing invoice is the document we issue for each payout in your name and to your account from the commission ledger, so you do not have to retype it. You can object to it within the objection period in the portal. How VAT appears on it depends on your tax profile (VAT payer, non-payer, partner from abroad) and the programme terms; talk to your accountant.

Can I build a custom frontend for a client?

Yes. You write your own frontend on top of the Shop API with the SDK and a frontend key. It runs with you; checkout, payments and the customer account stay on the platform. The SDK, @portican/storefront, is part of the platform, not a paid add-on.

Can I use my own templates?

Yes. You save a finished shop look to your library and pick it for the next client when you register their shop. A template uses platform data, blocks and sections and your own CSS, without your own JavaScript or HTML, so that shops stay fast.

What if the client leaves?

A commission arises only from payments the client actually made, and only for the duration of the programme. When the client cancels or stops paying, no further records arise. If a payment is refunded or ends in a dispute, the matching record is reversed, and during a dispute it waits for the outcome.

Apply to the programme

After you send it, you will receive an email with a link. Once you confirm it, we check your IČO in the company register and, if it matches, you become a partner straight away, with an invitation to the partner portal. If the register does not confirm the IČO, you stay a partner in restricted mode: the portal works, but creating a shop for a client and payouts wait until the register confirms the match.

Enter the legal business name exactly as it appears in the company or trade register, not a brand or website name. If it does not match, you stay in restricted mode until the details agree.

For now the programme only accepts companies and sole traders with an IČO, the company number from the Slovak or Czech register.
